Rules, terms and conditions:
1) Participants (SINGERS OR MUSICIANS) can be
of any age. Always have your proof of date of birth handy on the day of the competition.
2) Groups of maximum three persons can enter. The
entry fee is per PERSON, which means that groups will pay the relevant fee for each
member of the group.
3) Any language or genré of music is accepted.
4) A non-refundable entry fee of R30 per PERSON must
be paid into the mentioned bank account on or before 15 November. Late payments
will be accepted, but then at R50 per PERSON. Entrants who do not participate in
the competition loose their entry fee and will also not be allowed free access to
the festival.

together with the proof of payment of the entry fee.

7) Entrants will eventually get an approved entry
number which can be used to enter at the RIVIERMONDSTERFEES, Colchester (entrants
do not pay a gate fee as well). Supporters are welcome to attend the talent show
– a gate fee of R70 for adults and R30 for scholars will be charged - pre-school
children enter free. Please see the full programme of events at

8) Applicants are not allowed to participate when
under the influence of alcohol or any other illegal subtance.
9) No sound checks will be done beforehand. However,
the judges will have the right to request that your item be done once again should
they feel the sound was to the entrants’ disadvantage.
10) Communication is only via e-mail. You will get e-mails pertaining
to this competition as well as other competitions. You are at liberty to opt out
when it is no longer welcome. If you do not receive any e-mail correspondence, please

11) The sound equipment available will be microphones, monitor, PA-System
and CD-player. Additional sound equipment will be made available at the cost of
the entrant only!
12) No musical instruments will be supplied by the organisers and the
entrant will also be liable for the cost should additional sound equipment be required.
13) All entrants must report to the stage at the Riviermondsterfees before
11:30 on 26 November 2011. The talent show will commence at 12:00 strictly.
Any changes in this arrangement will be communicated via e-mail.
14) Entrants cannot sing or play a song or musical work entered by somebody
else. The second person entering the same song/musical work will have to choose
another song/musical work. It is therefore advisable to enter as early as possible
to ensure that songs are not duplicated. This is done to make the talent show more
attractive to the audience.
15) Categories will be based on age and depending on the number of entries,
ages can be combined as deemed fit by the organisers. The FINAL ROUND (called WOW!-ROUND)
will be a competition between the winners (nr 1) of each category.
16) The audience will be given the opportunity to vote for their nr
1, 2 and 3 winners in each category using their cell phones. The audience’
votes will be converted to form 25% of each entrants’ total point. The judges’
total marks will form 75% of the points allocated to each entrant. No marks will
be announced, just the winning positions.
17) The duration of a song or musical work may not exceed 4 minutes.
If so, it will be disqualified without further notice.
18) Entrants participate at own risk and will not have any claim against
the organisers whatsoever.
19) The talent show can be canceled at any point in time and entry fees
will then be refunded.
20) No correspondence will be entertained pertaining to the results.
Participants must accept it as final.
21) The prizes will be handed to winners on the spot.
22) Participants are reminded that they can also partake in the regular
development talent shows in various Eastern Cape towns to improve their performance.
