Participate – more performance opportunities!

Singers and/or musicians enter to as many of the talent days possible and performs to an audience who undertans the development path of artists. Participants pay entry fees but no admission.

Six developmental talent shows per annum are presented in each participating town (Graaff-Reinet, Jeffreysbay, Port Elizabeth and Somerset East). The best participants are afforded the opportunity to participate in the GOLDEN DREAMS WOW!-STAR FINAL o 26 November in the Port Elizabeth Operahouse.

Judges - Constructive advice

WOW! STAR use judges who have experience that can be transferred to participants by listening to their work and by giving constructive and positive advice, which assist participants in improving their future shows and then get further advice about the next step.

Categories

At each talent day participants are divided into various categories to participate against their peers (or as close as possible). 

Special Create-a-song category

This category is for participants who have their own song/musical work or a song/musical work written/composed by somebody else for the participant. Participants who have entered for the relevant talent day can participate in this category without any extra charge. Those who do not have original repertoire need not to worry - if you eventually choose this route, all sorts of assistance will be available.

The WOW!-round

The winners of each category takes part in the WOW!-round at the end of the talent day. This round is a mixed age and standards round in which participants from across the spectrum compete against each other. The idea is to allow the category winners to measure their performance to other winners and stimulate their performance even further.

Become a MINI WOW!-STAR

The winner of the WOW!-round is known as the MINI WOW!-STAR of the day and gets a floating trophy as proof of performance. However, the focus remains on the development of EACH participant and not who the winners are! The aim of WOW!-STAR is to assist the participant on the road to becoming a true entertainer.

GOLDEN DREAMS WOW!-STAR RANKINGS

Each participant is awarded a ranking point for each item performed. Each town/city has a ranking list.  The Eastern Cape ranking list contains ranking details of participants from around the Eastern Cape.

GOLDEN DREAMS WOW!-STAR FINAL

Participants who made the TOP 20 positions in the Eastern Cape rankings and/or the TOP 10 positions on the CREATE-a-SONG CATEGORY rankings are invited to participate in the GOLDEN DREAMS WOW!-STAR FINAL glitter evening on 19 November at the Port Elizabeth Opera House.

TICKET PRICES

Admission fees for audience members at the WOW!-STAR talent shows is R50 per person. Entrants only pay entry fees and no admission fees.

ENTRY FEES

Participants’ entry fees are R65. Groups are also welcome to enter at an extra fee of R25 for each additional member. Terms and conditions apply - please see WOW!-STAR manual on the FORMS page.

Neem deel - dis meer optreegeleenthede!

Deelnemers wat sing of/en 'n instrument bespeel skryf in vir elke talentdag en tree op voor ‘n gehoor wat begrip het vir die ontwikkelingspad wat geloop moet word. Deelnemers betaal inskrywingsfooie maar nie toegangsfooie nie.

Daar word ses ontwikkelings talentdae per jaar in elke deelnemende dorp (Graaff-Reinet, Jeffreys Baai, Port Elizabeth en Somerset-Oos) aangebied. Uiteindelik kry die beste deelnemers onder almal die geleentheid om aan die GOUE DROME WOW!-STêR FINAAL op 26 November in die Port Elizabeth Operahuis deel te neem.

Beoordelaars - Opbouende advies

WOW!-STêR gebruik beoordelaars wat oor ervaring beskik wat aan deelnemers oorgedra kan word om te luister na hulle werk en OPBOUENDE en POSITIEWE advies te gee, wat die deelnemers in staat stel om hulle vertonings te verbeter en by 'n volgende keer beter te doen en nog verder raad te kry oor die volgende stap.

Kategorieë

By elke talentdag is daar onderskeie kategorieë waarby deelnemers ingedeel word om (so na as wat dit moontlik is) teen deelnemers van hulle eie kaliber deel te neem.

Spesiale Skep-'n-liedjie kategorie

In hierdie kategorie neem deelnemers deel wat alreeds 'n eie liedjie/musikale werk geskryf het of 'n liedjie/musikale werk opvoer wat deur iemand anders vir die deelnemer geskryf is. Deelnemers wat reeds vir die betrokke talentdag ingeskryf het, neem gratis aan hierdie kategorie deel.

Die WOW!-rondte

Die wenners van elke kategorie neem aan die einde van die talentdag aan die WOW!-rondte deel. Hierdie rondte is dus 'n gemengde ouderdom en - standaard rondte waarin deelnemers van oor die hele spektrum teen mekaar kompeteer. 

Word 'n MINI WOW!-STêR

Die wenner van die WOW!-rondte staan bekend as die MINI WOW!-STêR van die dag en ontvang 'n wisseltrofee as bewys van prestasie. Die fokus bly egter op ontwikkeling van ELKE deelnemer en soseer wie die wenners is nie.

GOUE DROME WOW!-STêR RANGLYS

Elke deelnemer word 'n ranglyspunt toegeken vir elke item. Elke dorp het 'n ranglys waarvolgens deelnemers ingedeel word en die Oos-Kaapse ranglys bevat weer ranglys inligting rondom deelnemers uit die hele Oos-Kaap.

GOUE DROME WOW!-STêR FINAAL

Deelnemers wat die TOP 20 posisies op die Oos-Kaapse ranglys behaal en/of die TOP 10 posisies op die SKEP-'n-LIEDJIE KATEGORIE ranglys, word uitgenooi om aan die GOUE DROME WOW!-STêR FINAAL deel te neem wat 'n glansaand is wat op 26 November in die Port Elizabeth Operahuis plaasvind.

Kaartjiepryse bly onveranderd

Kaartjiepryse vir toeskouers by die WOW!-STêR talentdae word nie verhoog in 2011 nie. Dit bly dus R50 per persoon.

Inskrywingsfooie

Deelnemers se inskrywings fooi word verhoog van R60 na R65 en wanneer groepe optree is dit 'n R25 addisioneel vir elke bykomende lid van die groep. Wanneer groepe inskryf is daar spesifieke terme en voorwaardes wat geld - sien asseblief die WOW!-STêR handleiding op die VORMS bladsy.
