WOW!-STêR is 'n projek deur GOUE DROME ter wille van die ontwikkeling van talent en die skep van nuwe liedjies

Gedurende die sewentigerjare het Sarel Botha gedroom oor die moontlikheid om 'n konstruktiewe bydrae tot veral Afrikaanse ligtemusiek te maak, maar eers sowat 30 jaar later word dit moontlik toe hy in 2004 die organisasie VOALIM (Vereniging vir die bevordering van die skep van oorspronklike Afrikaanse Ligtemusiek) stig.



Na sowat twee suksesvolle jare as Voorsitter van VOALIM het Sarel besluit om te onttrek omdat hyself by 'n promosiefirma betrokke geraak het en dit nie meer moontlik was om volle aandag aan die vereniging te gee nie. Die vereniging se stoom het daarna egter gou uitgehardloop en toe dit nie meer voortgaan nie, was daar 'n leemte in die mark om dieselfde doelwitte te bereik.



Sarel het toe besluit om weer die taak aan te pak om 'n werkbare talentvertoningkonsep gebaseer op ontwikkeling aan die gang te kry.



Dit was die geboorte van TALENTé 2008 en 2009 en wat in 2010 as WOW!-STêR voortgesit is, en nou met 'n drasties verbeterde 2011 WOW!-STêR wat besig is om vlerke te sprei en te ontwikkel in 'n groot organisasie. Die skep van nuwe werk is nou nog meer belangrik as ooit vantevore.

Verskeie persone het al navraag gedoen om ook hierdie konsep in ander dele van Suid-Afrika toe te pas. Konsessies is beskikbaar aan diegene wat oor die passie en deursettingsvermoë beskik om dit aan te pak en navrae kan gestuur word aan info@gouedrome.co.za.

Sodra meer WOW!-STêR-takke landwyd gevestig is, sal oorkoepelende Streekkompetisies en ook 'n Nasionale kompetisie aan die gang kom. Daar is reeds WOW!-STêR kompetisies in Port Elizabeth, Graaff-Reinet, Jeffreysbaai en Somerset-Oos en 'n jaarlikse GOUE DROME WOW!-STêR OOS-KAAP FINAAL (wat in Port Elizabeth plaasvind).

WOW!-STAR is 'n project of GOLDEN DREAMS aimed at the development of talent and the creation of new songs

During the 70's Sarel Botha had a dream to make a constructive contribution to especially Afrikaans light music. It was eventually 30 years later when he in 2004 formed the association VOALIM (Association for promotion of the creation of original Afrikaasn light music).

After about two successful years as Chairman of VOALIM Sarel decided to retire because he was involved in a promotion company and it was no longer possible to fully attend to the association. The association's steam ran out soon and when it no longer continued, there was a gap in the market for an organisation with the same goals.



Sarel then decided to restart the task to tackle a viable talent show concept based on development. 



This was the birth of Talenté 2008 and 2009 and in 2010 it continued as WOW!-STAR, and also now with a dramatically improved 2011 WOW!-STAR which is busy spreading wings and developing into a large organisation. Creating new work is now more important than ever before.



Would you like to have a WOW-star in your town / city / region?

Several people have inquired to bring this concept to other parts of South Africa. Concessions are available for those who have the passion and perseverance and enquiries can be sent to info@gouedrome.co.za.



Once more WOW-STAR agencies have been established nationwide, overall regional competitions and a national competition will be next in the row. There are already WOW!-STAR competitions in Port Elizabeth, Graaff-Reinet, Jeffreys Bay and Somerset-East and an annual GOLDEN DREAMS WOW!-STAR EASTERN CAPE final  takes place in Port Elizabeth.
